Based on Mosab Hassan Yousef‘s bestselling memoir Son of Hamas, “The Green Prince” directed by Frankfurt based Nadav Schirman exposes a complex world of terror, betrayal, and impossible choices. Through exclusive first-hand testimony, dramatic action sequences, and rare archival footage, decades of secrets come to light in this unflinching exploration of a profound spiritual transformation and the transcendent bonds of friendship.

The documentary won the Sundance Film Festival 2014 Audience Award, was shown at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival New York, in Madrid, Moskow and now at San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.

Nadav Schirman’s previous films include “The Champagne Spy”, which won the Israeli Academy Award for best documentary film and the John Schlesinger Award for Outstanding First Feature in 2007.  His latest documentary from 2013 “In the Dark Room” was produced by the deceased German art house producer Karl Baumgartner. “The Green Prince” is from the Academy Award® Winning producers Simon Chinn (“Man on Wire”, “Searching for Sugar Man”) und John Battsek (“One Day in September”). The film is funded by Hessian Film Fund.
