Health insurance is obligatory in Germany. Therefore, all employed filmmakers must have a health insurance for the duration of a production in Germany. For filmmakers coming from abroad proof of insurance is usually required at the entry. German employees usually already have a health insurance. For everyone else there is the possibility to arrange for the health insurance in an insurance package for the production. The employees should be advised that this insurance is valid only within the production period and in Germany and that, moreover, no follow-up-costs are included.
