Do young filmmakers have to emancipate themselves from “youth topics” to be successful? Or does the proximity to the young audience benefit them when it comes to developing exciting themes for these target groups and implementing them cinematically? Which role do film schools, funding and distribution structures play for newcomers in the production of children’s and youth films? Together with the podium participants, we would like to explore which problems young filmmakers face who aim to address young audiences, but also which potential lies precisely in this connection.
