LICHTER screened 70 films, including numerous German and World premieres. With 9,500 visitors the film festival ends with a new audience record.
A large number of films took part in the LICHTER Frankfurt International Film Festival competition. 20 feature-length productions with connections to the Rhine-Main region were in the race for the “MBF Prize” with a total value of 4,000 Euros (cash and production support). The prize as well as the legendary LICHTER Pitcher for Best Feature Film went to the documentary by Melanie GärtnerLand in Between“.

20 entries took part in the short film competition. The expert jury desided, that “Misguided” from Lukas Rinker is worth the prize with a total value of 1,500 Euros (cash as well as a stipend from the Hessen Film Fund for the next script-writing camp in Frankfurt and two vouchers for seminars at the Filmhaus Frankfurt).

The first audiance award, worth 2,000 Euros donated by BINDING Adler, was awarded to director Daniel Siebert and his documentary “Die Meta-Morphose. Leicht verstimmt ins Rampenlicht“.
